What games do you share with others?

One of my favorite things to do is encourage my young son to play classic games instead of terrible games like Roblox and Fortnite (look inside yourself, you know it's true). He hates classic games with the passion of a thousand exploding suns, so it takes some work to get him to play.

Often I use classic games to get him to be more active or to play outside. He says to me, "Dad, I'm bored". To which I reply, "Well, you can go outside and clean the yard or play Chrono Trigger on the tube television." An hour later I have a clean yard.

Sometimes though, he does relent due to my constant pestering and he does sit down to play a classic - mostly when the internet is down. After he gets into it he does enjoy them. I'm proud to say he has beaten several classics including the following games...

  • Original Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario 64 (at 3 years old!)
  • Super Mario World
  • Sonic 2
  • Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Zelda: Ocarina of Time

But the best one... The one that makes me the most proud - he has completed Super Mario RPG, and not the remake. The best part is that nearly a year has passed since he completed it and I catch him often humming the music to the Forest Maze just north of Rose Town.

What is your favorite game to share with loved ones? We'd love to hear your favorite gaming memories with family or friends.
